The bodyguard is standing very close to the cliff, and when killed will always drop the ring but killing him will betray the covenant and make all NPC's hostile again, which can be reverted through absolving your sins at Oswald of Carim in the Undead Parish.Īlternately, Shiva and his bodyguard can be found at the bottom of the elevator in Blighttown after speaking with him in the Darkroot Garden, so long as the player still belongs to the covenant. Joining the covenant causes Shiva of the East and his invisible bodyguard to spawn, just outside of Alvina's location in the direction of the sealed door. The player must join, then betray, the Forest Hunter covenant to obtain this ring, preventing progress in that Covenant until the next playthrough unless an absolution is obtained from Oswald of Carim.

Agents of subterfuge in this faraway land are particularly fond of the dark gold wood grain, which greatly alters the player's rolling motion. Your ring slots are still going to be filled with magic buff items but since you can boost your magic stats with armor too it's fine.In-Game Description This special ring crafted in an Eastern land is made of gold, but with a wood grain crest on its surface. Magic is also greatly improved and it's no longer as much that you are overpowered in the beginning then spend most of the game trying to take magic from crap to good. But it helps when you want to use say a weapon that requires a few more levels than you have so you equip some gear that adds those levels and can swap for something else later. The extra stats or buffs from equipment and covenants is also a great feature even though it means armor as fashion is less of a thing. Some of them are really tough but a lot of them are fun to fight.

I also love all the added human size mini-bosses. Having many of the Bloodborne weapons (well, within the limitations of what can be modded in so using DS3 weapon animations and so on) was perhaps a bit unnecessary but I really like how much DS1 and DS2 stuff is in there. I like that they also removed a few bonfires that don't need to exist where they are. Just changing enemy placements and bonfire locations makes it a different experience. While I don't agree with all decisions the developers of the mod made (for example Farron Keep is a bit too populated for my liking), most of it is spot on and works in the context of the game's lore and improves the flow of the levels. The DLC areas are mostly unchanged, either the mod developers decided that they were fine as is or just haven't gotten into them all that much. I recommend it for everyone who has the game on PC. I recently completed my playthrough of this on version 1.72.
